A quick search shows that a V6 with 300+hp can be had for a few grand less than any Toyobaru of the same model year. Quite a few are still in warra nty too.

Then why don’t they make Initial D?
Have you ever seen a Hyundai in Initial D ?

I think they look rather dashing, and didn’t you know that Hyundai makes good cars now?

Koreans make good things. Initial D is a terrible thing. Therefore, Koreans do not make Initial D .

I don’t think it looks good.
They are making better cars now, but if the rental Hyundai I had last week is what to go by, they make cars now. It wasn’t bad, but neither was it good. It was a car.

Always liked the look of these. The design seems like a mix between small Japanese sports cars and American muscle. Have heard reliability is questionable though. How much are the examples you found?

A rental version of anything is always terrible. Many manufacturers specifically make shitty versions just for rental fleets. Hy
undai’s
offerings
to the actual
consumer market are very competitive.
And E90 M3s look like angry fish with underbites so there.

Yes; I’d love to give one a whirl. The V6 seems to be the route to go, sounds decent, good HP, and I think the 2T has pretty bad rev hang.

Exactly.
Like if you’re at a important business function and you’re going around the circle; “I drive a BMW” oh cool, “I drive a Audi.” Very nice. “I drive a Hyundai.” What?

From what I was told the first gen is a grenade waiting to happen - their transmissions are made of popsicle sticks, glass and bubble gum. The second gens are much more robust and powerful albeit a controversial styling

Hmm, I just wonder if they can be had with two more doors, and a twin turbo setup, that’d make em perfect!
oh Wait...

I hate to be a snob, even though I’ve been called one before, but the badge matters. It doesn’t matter how good a Hyundai is, it’s still a Hyundai.
It’s also not that good because their steering is garbage. The Stinger is pretty decent, but the rest of their lineup is nothing special.

I am a complete badge snob when it comes to everything besides trucks and idgaf, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a Kia.

A 2013 V6 can be had for $ 12-18 k depending on mileage and options. 2016s might be 20-23k but that’s still cheaper than a Toyobaru.

Looks no worse than literally anything the automakers are churning out today.

I tried really hard to get one when I was shopping, but the only manual one I could find was more than I wanted to spend like 15,000. I would personally go with the Turbo, with a bit of money throw at it, it can make more power than the V6 and make better sounds. It’s very similar to the Evo10s engine if I recall correctly

Why the odd capitalization? Are you trying to send us a hidden message?

The first-gens were super popular in Canada and I haven’t seen any grenaded transmissions yet. Turbos and engines on the other hand...

Traded my 3.8 recently - great car.. handled well, even with Pilot Sport A/S, a lot of fun, with the older gen’s thicker sway bars. Sounded nice under throttle as well.

Decided to look the Genesis up after this post.
My Outback gets better fuel economy. BRZ it is for me.

bruh, who buys a sports car for the fuel economy?

That would be me. It’s going to be both my fun car and my “gas is getting expensive I’d like to do better than 18 mpg going to work every day” car.
